DASA Summary for Inter Rater Reliability

In summary, ward experiences were used to highlight the need to include nursing assistants in completing the DASA risk tool.

The author of the DASA recommends that qualified staff are best to complete the DASA. However, at Mersey Care we decided to test this theory due to the high levels of daily patient interaction by unqualified staff and the skills they possess. DASA has also enhanced their skills and motivation due to their involvement in patient care and delivery. The following slides show a high consistency percentage in relation to qualified and unqualified staff when completing DASA scoring/risk level tool.
